The Danger of Being Exposed to Asbestos

My favorite teacher in grade school was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer caused by prolonged exposure to asbestos. She was the most vibrant and nicest teacher I’ve ever had that’s why I was really disappointed when the guidance councelor told us that we were going to have a new intern for our Science class. We were told that our teacher was suffering from a lung disease and that she can’t attend her classes anymore. Later on, I overheard my other teachers talking about the danger of everyday exposure to chalk dusts. Apparently, these chalks contain asbestos which school teachers easily inhale through the dust while they are writing in the chalkboard. This is also the reason why in private schools, teachers use pentel pens and whiteboards.

Now, the problem with living and working in a third world country is that most people are not well educated about these things. Even if manufacturers have the responsibility of informing the workers, the government should do something to protect the public school teachers. People who are diagnosed with this disease can seek a Mesothelioma Lawyer who can provide legal assistance on claiming your legal rights. Yes, victims have rights to medical care.
