The Danger of Being Exposed to Asbestos

My favorite teacher in grade school was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer caused by prolonged exposure to asbestos. She was the most vibrant and nicest teacher I’ve ever had that’s why I was really disappointed when the guidance councelor told us that we were going to have a new intern for our Science class. We were told that our teacher was suffering from a lung disease and that she can’t attend her classes anymore. Later on, I overheard my other teachers talking about the danger of everyday exposure to chalk dusts. Apparently, these chalks contain asbestos which school teachers easily inhale through the dust while they are writing in the chalkboard. This is also the reason why in private schools, teachers use pentel pens and whiteboards.

Now, the problem with living and working in a third world country is that most people are not well educated about these things. Even if manufacturers have the responsibility of informing the workers, the government should do something to protect the public school teachers. People who are diagnosed with this disease can seek a Mesothelioma Lawyer who can provide legal assistance on claiming your legal rights. Yes, victims have rights to medical care.

My 2 Blogging Dilemmas – Solved!

Do you often work on long hours to gain traffic for your blog? I do, and I know how tiring it can be. Reserving whole days or weekends just for blog hopping is extremely frustrating knowing there is no guarantee that they will also visit back to me. My blogging techniques, just like those of many aspiring bloggers, obviously need improvement. I’ve thought about this overnight and here are my findings and solutions:

Problem # 1 Very Low Traffic

I suppose one of the many reasons why a lot of people are soo into blogging is because of the opportunity to earn money. This is my primary motivation, I admit. Unfortunately, I can’t do that without an impressive Alexa rank.

Simple Solutions

  • Register my other blogs to Blogexplosion and alot at least 30 minutes every other day to surf sites. The more I surf, the better chances of getting free hits for my sites. I’m just not sure if bestfriend google will be happy to know about this because based on the quality guidelines, autorotation is not allowed. There is another site that offers the same function (Globalautohits) but it’s so effortless I’m hesitant to join.
  • I will also register my blog to Linkreferral to get constructive criticisms and reviews.
  • Leave greetings and messages in blogs that have chatboxes or tagboards so the owner will be notified that I was there. I will leave my url and hope to get a visit in return.
  • Although I have an entrecard in my sidebar, I haven’t really used it that much. But I’ve seen a lot of bloggers attesting to how effective it is, so I’m gonna drop my EC to 300 blogs this coming weekend and see if it really works. It should, lol.

Problem # 2 Need free backlinks

I now understand why bloggers and website owners are going gaga over page rank. Although I still don’t have any idea on how it is computed (my blog I Love Sterndal has more than 100 backlinks while this one only has 4, but both got PR2), I am certain about one thing: it is a requirement to get approved in paid to blog sites like PPP. More incoming links means higher chances for a better PR. But the question is, where will I get free backlinks?

Simple solutions:

  • Based on my personal experience, the easiest way to get free backlinks is through submission in popular blogging communities. My plan is to submit my blogs to Blogoria, MyBlogLog, Blog Catalog, Blog Hub, Zimbio, Technorati, etc.
  • Leave meaningful, sincere comments on other people’s blogs.
  • Ask other bloggers to exchange links with me.

The only problem now is I’m too lazy to do all those solutions. LOL

High School Life: Part 1

I now understand that there is some truth in that old Sharon Cuneta song High School Life — the lyrics are so true it brings me back to my younger days:

high school life, oh my high school life every memory kay ganda. bakit kung graduation na’y luluha kang talaga.

High school life is the best. I met my most treasured friends during secondary studies and we had a lot of unforgettable experiences together. Me, Mary, Belinda and Rhea have been really good pals since senior year and throughout everything, good times and bad, different universities and even now that some of us have already gotten hitched, our friendship is just unstoppable! We could laugh like crazy on the shallowest things and we had the best times bumming around, eating, malling and just talking nonsense.

School was our priority. Well…sort of. One time our Physics teacher caught us cutting classes and she was fuming mad, she required us to submit a written explanation from our parents! Or else, she’d report us to the principal’s office and, chances are, we wouldn’t graduate. Bummer! We’re supposed to graduate in two months time and we’re already looking forward to college. Fortunately, we have a very special talent in problem solving. heh-heh! We composed the letters ourselves and we forged our parents’ signatures. It was a desperate move and, by far, the naughtiest thing we’ve ever done.

But hey! I do look back at my old self and say “what the hell was I doing?!”

What Women Want

Every woman has her own definition of ‘Mr. DREAM BOY.’ That’s for sure. And so, I asked some friends about this and here’s a few of what they are looking for, so listen up guys!

(Instead of listing it down, I decided to put it in a paragraph just so it won’t consume too much space )

Someone kind and thoughtful. Is in to compromising. Can be straight up and honest without avoiding the topic at hand. Someone who isn’t disrespectful when he disagrees. Can admit when he is wrong. Someone who will be supportive even if he really doesn’t want to be. Real and not fake. Someone who will stand up for what he believes in. A good listener and open minded. Loves to be physical. Expresses himself through touch and loving words. Someone who knows how to deal with his emotions and takes responsibilty for his own mistakes and doesn’t blame everyone else. Just a down to earth loving individual who cares about other people. Honest and not a cheater (this is A MUST!). Someone whose loyalty will go on forever.

etc. etc. etc.

the other things they say…I forgot LOL :)

The definition can go on and on …
