Back to 20/20 Eye Vision

Last year, my eye specialist told me that my eyes are starting to deteriorate. Although I didn’t want to believe that, I couldn’t deny the signs. I was starting to miss errors at work and I had to put the book closer to my eyes in order for me to read it clearly. Having a clear eyesight is something very important for me considering the nature of my job. I am a Proofreader/QA and spotting errors in manuscripts is one of my main tasks. I don’t know if this is a miracle ‘cuz I’ve been praying for this, but I underwent an eye refraction last week and the doctor told me I have 20/20 vision. Or is this just a mistake? Could it be? She just asked me to take a peek in an apparatus and she also asked me to read a few lines from a chart and that was it. She then gave me a piece of paper that says I have a perfect 20/20 eye vision. I was on the verge of telling her about last year’s result, it was 20/25, but I got scared that she might confirm my fears that my eyes are really blur and the 20/20 was just a mistake. And so I kept my mouth shut.

Math Lover: Part 2

When I was about to tell my neighbor that I can’t do it because “I’m too busy” with the household chores, I saw the boy smiling shyly to me. I had compassion for him, I’m not sure why. Maybe because I used to smile like that when I feel so small and I’m trying my best to hide it. So, to cut the story short, I tried to help. It’s a good thing the equations were simple, he’s in sixth grade, by the way.

It’s hard to remember what we discussed that afternoon. As I have said, I was never good in math but I really tried my best to share with him my stock knowledge about x and y. Hehe! After we tried to do his homework, I asked my brother to double check our solutions (bro’s fave subject is math) and … surprise! Out of 10 problems we got 7 correct answers! Not bad :) I’m really glad because I feel like I was able to help in my own little way….

New Manila Street

I’ve really worked hard on this and I’m so proud of my self :) Hihi! The screenshot below is the new Manila Street. The theme’s name is Urbane by Blogohblog! It’s template is a bit complicated, still having trouble on how am I going to make those thumbnails work. Chatbox is not working too! In fact, everything was malfunctioning when I first installed it. It took me hours to fix all those syntax / fatal errors, call to undefined function and all those chenylyn. I wasn’t able to fix the errors in the comments section so I decided to replace all the tags with a complete set of tags, which I copied from WP’s default theme. Is that valid? I don’t know but I think the appearance is cool. I’m so loving it! I also think it gave me a renewed zest for blogging, maybe I will update this blog more often. But I’m not done yet! I’m still thinking of new things (maybe widgets) to add, I’m in the mood for designing :)
