A laptop that fits the bill

Because I don’t want to spend a lot of money in computer rentals, all of my posts are hand-written first in a piece of yellow paper or any other kind of paper - tissue, receipts, etc. In this way, I wouldn’t have to rent for a very long time in the internet cafe thinking about what I’m going to write. One hour is enough - 15 minutes for typing and editing, and then the remaining 45 minutes I use for blog hopping, commenting, and visiting my account in Friendster.

Sometimes, I use colorful ballpens to get me in the mood for writing. But I often use mongol pencil because it allows me to edit/erase without making the paper dirty. Also, my pencil should be newly sharpened and the paper should be super clean and without crumpled parts.

This has always been my blogging routine and laughingly, I’d been comfortable with this set up for more than a year. LIAR! Hehe. Of course, it’s such a hassle to go in the internet cafe just to update my blogs especially when it’s raining. That is why I am now planning to buy a pre-owned laptop. Specs: 512MB, 15″ LCD with built-in wifi. Budget is 10K. Target date is on or before March 2010.

that’s a good decision. having your own computer has a lot of benefits specially if you are a blogger. after that, also get yourself a cheap internet plan and you’re ready to go!

hi there! well, hassle naman talaga ang pumunta pa talaga sa internet cafe dahil bukod sa madaming tao ay syempre you wont have much of a privacy so magandang investment talaga ang laptop! ^__^

I admire people especially those younger ones who has the guts planning and saving for something doable and not impossible.

    Sige Ineng, just do it.

I see traces of OCD in you—joke! Good luck and I hope you get yourself a good laptop. I’m thinking of buying one myself, since I’m an internet cafe girl just like you. Luckily I also get to use the internet in the office for blogging purposes. Unprofessional, yeah, but oh I just couldn’t help it.

  9. i kill the suckingbird Says:

mahirap kung lagi ka lng ppunta sa cafe.. esp kung freelance ung work mo.. hihi.

  10. sterndal Says:

    @katcarneo

    OCD? as in ganito?

“Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), one of the anxiety disorders, is a potentially disabling condition that can persist throughout a person’s life. The individual who suffers from OCD becomes trapped in a pattern of repetitive thoughts and behaviors that are senseless and distressing but extremely difficult to overcome.”

    haha! hindi ako ganyan :)

Sometimes writing without a keyboard has it’s benefits! I just bought a netbook a few months back for less that 300. It does everything I need as far as internet and blogging goes. I use my tower for files, photo editing, and storage.

    Hello from SpeedyCat !! :-)

  13. Noel Says:

I hope you will consider that a 15″ laptop may not be that comfy to carry around (I’m assuming you are mostly mobile). Other than that, a good laptop/netbook is a good investment. Just don’t forget to back up everything :)

    Have a good day!

  14. ruthi Says:

you are indeed a blogger. happy blogging my friend.

  15. kaspangarigan Says:

Salamat sa pagdalaw mo sa aking bahay. Tunghayan mo ang kasagutan sa iyong mga tanong.

Huwag kang mag-atubiling magtanong ulit kung mayroon ka pang gustong malaman. God bless. :P
