After 3 weeks of being ill, I am still alive and kicking. No sire. I wasn’t terminally ill. Just sick. No. Not crazy. I was just not feeling well because of eczema. I don’t know why I have this disease. The first doctor who examined my tiny wounds said it has something to do with personal hygiene which sent me home with tears in my eyes. I take a bath everyday so I’m quite sure it’s not about being dirty and dugyut.

So, I wanted to hear a second opinion. The second doctor said there are a number of possible reasons. It could be the soap that I am using. It could be the food that I am eating. Or, it could be stress. I have to agree. Yeah, that must be the reason. I am stressed out. With everything. Specially with writing. And yeah, with changing themes. LOL. I think I change layout before I even finish saying ‘I won’t change themes anymore.’

Seriously, I think I have an idea about what really triggered this annoying and embarrassing illness. Last year, I stepped on a rusty nail and since then, the wounds won’t go away. They’re always on my left foot. They look like small rashes that are very itchy and scratching them would always result into painful tiny wounds. Anyway, I took medicines and now I feel good.

The dermatologist said I have to undergo a two-week medication but I’ve decided that one week is enough. Please do not attempt to do this. I mean, always follow your physician’s instruction. I’m just stubborn. I’d probably regret this when the wounds re-occur. But for now, I am relieved that I don’t have to bother myself with bad-tasting medicines because believe me, they are also stressing me out.

What else? Well, I have a new theme. I think I’m gonna stick with this. Forever? Okay, okay. I’m not gonna make a promise this time. I have to face the truth. I’m obsessed with WordPress themes. I can’t help it. I just have to try each of those pretty themes specially on days when I’m stressed. It’s like a habit and I just naturally click on “upload new theme” every time something is wrong with my life.

I really like my current layout. I think it’s simple and neat. I want to murder … err … customize this when I find time. But for now, this post should let you know that the blabber is still alive. I may not be in a healthy condition but I’m still alive. And for that, I am thankful to God.

I want to strengthen my immune system so I asked mom to buy me a bottle of vitamin c tablets. Instead of Ascorbic acid or Enervon C, I was given Fern-C capsules good for one month supply. Never heard about this before so I searched it in Google and was amazed at the health benefits that I could possibly gain from Fern-C.

BENEFICIAL RESULTS IN FERN-C (BFAD approved)
1. As super anti-oxidant, it strengthens the Immune System of the body.
2. Protects the body against flu, cough, bronchitis, respiratory problems, viral and bacterial infections.
3. Safeguards the heart & entire cardiovascular system from bad cholesterol deposition.
4. Gets rid of the accumulated toxins like heavy metals, pesticides & other pollutans found in air , food and water in the body.
5. Acts as a natural anesthetic and anti-inflammatory.
6. Inhibits tartar formation by preventing periodical damage to gums & sockets.
7. Helps ease mental stress & protects against stress related disorders.
8. Helps to end constipation & shrink hemorrhoids.
9. Strengthens the capillaries & other blood vessels.
10. The antihistamine actions of Fern-C can enable people to tolerate foods they otherwise could not eat.
11. Maintains your adrenal cortex and ovaries.
12. Reduces insulin requirement of diabetics.
13. Has shown a remarkable capacity to help knit bone & wage battle against such supposedly hopeless bone disorder.
14. Aids the white blood cells in its ability to fight viruses, (stimulate Phagocytic activity.)
15. Enhances sexual performance by abetting the healthy functioning of the Endocrine glands.

Somehow, I also feel that something is wrong with how the manufacturer is selling their product. Can vitamin C really do all of those things mentioned above? I hope they are not deceiving their customers because this food supplement is kind of expensive compared to regular vitamin c tablets. As for me, I would be satisfied if I’d feel the effects of number 1.

Today, my sister’s friend described me as the one who is always sitting (laging nakaupo) which made me laugh because it’s true. Since the day I worked full-time in freelance, my physical body has been very idle – almost no outdoor activities. This laptop is my constant companion to the point that I really feel that Top-top, my laptop’s name, is my best friend. During the Falcon storm, my mother invited me to sleep over her house. I was hesitant because I don’t want to leave Top-top alone. My sister said “hehe baka umiyak?”

Anyway, I really need some bodybuilding activities so I’m considering to go to Luneta every Sunday morning to attend a cheap aerobics class. It’s just a plan. I’m too lazy for this kind of stuff. If you will ask me, I want to learn yoga but I think the fees are too expensive so maybe I’ll just watch lots of YouTube Videos about the various types of yoga and then try to imitate the positions at home. I know it’s not sufficient but for now this is all I can afford. Unlimited internet connection. Yoga, pilates and pole dancing can wait. But my writing assignments can’t. This is the downside of being a freelancer. To say that you own your time just because you are a freelancer is foolish.

I know the title is so cliche so I added the word “true” to make it a little bit unique But I do believe that health is indeed the greatest wealth that a person could ever have. What’s the use of all the money in the world if I’m suffering from an incurable disease? That is why I’m trying my best to stay healthy. Guess what? I’m learning to drink water. I still don’t appreciate its taste but at least I’m beginning to drink a minimum of 5 glasses a day.

I’m also starting to minimize my intake of soft drinks, coffee and artificial juices. And if only there were Luna Bars in Manila, I would really buy one for me and the girls of my life. One for my mother, sister, best friend, sister-in-law, and of course one for Felly, my good friend in Dubai She gave me a box of chocolates when she visited Manila.

Luna bar reminds me of the yummy Snickers. Speaking of which, I ate Snickers yesterday. We went to Robinson’s Place for grocery shopping and although chocolates are not included in our list of items, we bought Snickers to satisfy our cravings. I’m skinny so I think it’s okay to eat everything sweet as long as I’m going to brush my teeth afterwards.

Next week, I have an appointment with my dentist for annual cleaning. I’m going to tell him to avoid the tooth which should have been extracted long ago. It’s not aching anymore so I don’t want to extract it. But for sure, he’s going to suggest root canal again so I will have to think things over again. Root canal or extraction? Argh! If I want to be healthy I also need to take care of my oral health.

Think. Think. Think.

Yeah, I think I’m going to let the dentist extract the molar a week after the dental prophylaxis. He said I can’t have cleaning and extraction done at the same time. I hope I can get all the courage. It’s been almost a year since the doctor advised me to have it removed.

Now that I’m doing freelance jobs, I don’t have a health card anymore which means I’m going to pay for my dental fees. I might transfer to a new dental clinic. My sister-in-law recommends her dentist. Only P150 for cleaning. Isn’t that very affordable? But the doctors got to be really nice to me. If they treat me bad, I’m gonna cry

As I’ve said in my other blog, many things are happening in my life right now. Still no love life, though I’m crushing on someone, but I’m still very happy. Life’s almost perfect if not for the wound on my left leg. Eczema I can’t believe I’m going to have scars at this age. Yay!

So anyway, it’s raining opportunities, literally. Somehow, I’m already confused on which among these offers to grab. First off, I’ve come to realize that there is really no “asenso” in being an employee. Specially in my case: always best in tardiness, never the employee of the quarter. Haha!
What I’m trying to say is that if I can’t be a role model office staff, then maybe I can be something else. Like a full-time freelancer, maybe?

Since last month, I’ve been sending my resume to companies and offices in Makati. I never intended to work in that place because they said that the people there speak in fluent English and that they are really “sosyal” and all. Not that I’m intimidated. I just feel like I don’t belong there. Joke. Drama! Nothing. In fact, I think Makati is not that glamorous, contrary to popular beliefs. My dream working place is Paris! So, Makati is “so-so” for me. LOL.

Kidding aside, I was invited to 8 job interviews for the position of Copy Writer | Web Content Writer | Content Writer | Online Marketing Writer. Basically, I want to work as a writer in a big company that pays me a minimum of 36K a month. Am I asking for too much? That is the amount that I can earn in a month if I’m going to work full-time in my online jobs. So, if I’m going to work in a company in a full-time basis, they should be able to exceed that amount, right?

Out of those 8 invitations, I went to just one and the rest, well, I was tied up with lots of writing commitments, I wasn’t able to attend anymore. Funny, when the employer asked about my expected salary, I said 18K. LOL. I was too shy to say my real expectation. I was scheduled for another interview this morning but I have writing assignments in Odesk, so I decided not to go.

I am thinking, why do I need to apply for jobs in Makati when I already have a lot of writing gigs online? And I can have more if I wanted to. If I really really wanted to. If I had more time. If I had no full-time job to think about. If only HMO, SSS, PAGIBIG, etc., were not important to me, I would have given up my office job long ago. Freelancers don’t have such benefits. That’s the main problem.

I’m confused. Which is better? To work at home or to work in a company? Hmmmm … I’m single. I have very few responsibilities. I’m renting a small place. My electric and water bills do not cost that much because I’m alone. I eat a lot but I’m happy with Jollibee meals, I mean no fancy restaurants for me. In other words, I only need P500 or $12 a day in order to survive. That’s all I NEED. But I WANT more money for my caprices. Hehe.

I’m currently looking at my options. I can work full-time in my office job and be a part-time freelancer. Or, quit my office job and work full-time in freelance writing, where I truly belong. If I could earn $50 dollars a day, then I’m going to resign now! Haha! But I’m going to work really hard for that huge amount and definitely, it’s not going to come from only one source or just one contract. I’ll need at least 3 long-term contracts in Odesk.

As of now, I have 2 fixed-priced assignments, both employers told me that if my performance passed their standards, they’re going to give me more projects I also have 4 hourly-based contracts and they’re not giving me much tasks but I’m not complaining. I’m able to earn $75 a week for a few hours of writing and editing. Okay, they said there are tons of work to do and that we need to discuss it via Skype. Problem is, I’m online when they’re offline and vice versa. Apparently, the Phillippines and the US have a 12 or 13 hours time difference.

So, do you think it’s possible? Or should I wait for things to be stable first? I can earn 12 dollars a day and more than that. But I doubt if $50 dollars daily is feasible. Haha! My plan is to stay in my full-time job while I’m doing freelance jobs. But holy smokes, I can’t serve two masters at the same time. Eventually, I will have to choose and that time is now. I have to make a decision.

Presently, my target is just $50 a week but if I’m going to work full-time in this online industry, I can raise my target income to $100, that’s $400 a month. What do you think? Well, I think that it’s too small for an amount. Haha! I’m really ambitious. I want to earn $1000 a month. That’s $250 a week. That’s $50 a day. Question is where will I get that $50? I have ideas but I’m going to kill myself writing and blogging. Maybe I should be contented with $100 a week and that’s just 20 hours of writing

one more thing, if I’m going to work full-time in Odesk, then maybe I should start accepting very low job offers like this one?

Or maybe I should still accept a full-time home-based job! How about this one?

It’s one my most wonderful job offers. They asked me to submit a sample and until now I haven’t written it yet because after office hours I still need to meet the deadlines in my writing gigs Sayang. But I’d still submit my sample article about Korean festivals even if it’s already late. Just so they wouldn’t think that I disregarded them. And then I’ll ask if there is a part-time position as well. Hehe.
